What’s under the floor?

When I first looked at the Ninety Hardtop it was the unfettered load area that really appealed to me. But compared to my old L200 it was still going to be a squeeze. Onboard water and filter, air, dual battery and so an are all needing to find homes. So I couldn’t resist lifting the load space floor to see what was underneath. The floor is supported by a 25mm steel tube frame which has a wide open central area where the underfloor storage tray bolts down. This sits above the very compact MHEV battery 48V system. Behind that is an open box frame where the passenger footwell would be. I found that you can also access this from behind the front seats if you unbolt the lower trim panel under the load divider. Plenty of room for the leisure battery, DC2DC charger, air compressor and cylinder, shurflo pump and filter. Better still there is easy access to connect into the main battery under the drivers seat. All I need to do now is replace the storage moulding with a water tank and everything will be neat and tidy under the floor. Lots of little sub projects to come.
