All preparations complete for 2 weeks with @atlasoverland in the Italian Alps. With that in mind I thought a summary of the vehicle set up for the trip would be in order.

The vehicle itself: Defender 90 D200 HardTop 2021 model with jump seat, clearview mirror, deplorable towbar, adaptive cruise & ATPC, (thanks Venture Automotive). To which I have added 2” lifted and uprated Sarek Coils and Radar Renegade R/T 285/65R18s on my lovely white Landrover steelies, Powerful U.K. aftermarket side steps (so Mrs M can get in), Powerful UK rear tow loops in black with step plates, Powerful UK additional reverse lights, bespoke 55l underfloor water tank, underfloor accessory compartment containing ViAir ADP air system, KS Energy 65ah Lithium aux battery with DC to DC charger and solar controller, Shurflo Trail King water pump and NaturePure water filter. Plus bespoke switch panel. Above the tank is a Frontrunner 6 cub box dual slide with an Alpicool 35l fridge freezer and above that an upper storage level for ground sheets, awning items, camp chairs etc. We also have a Nifty Lunchbox Table able to be mounted on the rear door window (so the drawers will work underneath). In the cab we have Melville & Moon canvas seat covers and on the spare wheel a CampACover rubbish and general nasty wet stuff carrier.

For the camping we have an Autohome Columbus Variant in small, mounted onto 125cm Frontrunner load bars with a side mounted Rhino Rack Batwing Compact 270 awning. Mounted under the Columbus is a Frontrunner stainless camp table and slide. For emergencies we have a steel shovel mounted on the gear carrier with Yakima grippers.

For comms we have a cab mounted 25W Maxon UHF set with a hidden under bonnet T aerial.

So I think we may be ready. Let’s see. Captain Atlas (aka Peter Girling) will surely find some flaws at the first parade!
