We are off to Wessex for the weekend with Peter Girling and @AtlasOverland for a couple of days on the tracks and lanes in the Salisbury area. Two nights in the tent is an opportunity to try out a couple of new items.

First is a little 12V 10L cooler fridge which cost me £60. A lot for a few chilled tinnies and some cold milk for the tea and lunch breaks but much more compact than my Alpicool 35L. The dogs get to use their proper baskets in the back instead of the tiny cages that they didn’t like much.

Next is a new tent carpet for the bottom of the tent ladder And under the awning just in case of muddy campsite grass. This goes with our caravan awning so I’m trying it out with the tent.

Then I‘ve bought a new lighter for the stoves After my old one fell apart in Northumbria. Look No Gas. It is just plasma driven by a small lithium rechargeable battery. Saves carrying that refill can and I’ve got the trusty sparking stick as a back up.
Finally I’m trying out the production version of my Nifty Lunchbox table.

Reports from the trail to follow.
