A first trip out. Basing the caravan at Carradale Bay on the Mull of Kintyre we have two weeks to check out NiftyNinety’s towing credentials. The door open door closed hitching was a bit complicated by the bikes on the spare wheel. I had to pop the front wheels in the van to make sure they didn’t foul the jockey. Then a 4 hour drive round to Carradale. Utterly scenic and

utterly uneventful. Nifty towed our 2 tonne single axle 8m Adria effortlessly. It was nicely balanced. The New Defender has a built in nose weight measuring system and showed us between 95kg and 125kg. So no swaying, tracked true, braked nicely. The D90 HT is going to be a great tow vehicle. We also managed to cram everything in despite not yet having rigged out the rear. Jammie and Dodger joined us the cab on the jump seat. A great day topped off with fresh langoustines on the Cadac overlooking the beach. What’s not to love.
